Some practices such as de beaking, toe trimming and wing
clipping (while the methods do work) are inhumane and therefore we do NOT practice these methods of control.
Our chickens are born naturally, grown naturally and left to their normal behavioral
methods, such as dust bathing and nesting. Back To Top |

All chicks are vaccinated for Semolina, and later on in life we monitor their diets and their mineral intake carefully. We disinfect any wounds that need seeing to and consult veterinarians and other experts on a regular basis to help us keep our chickens healthy and happy. Back To Top |

We are introducing full overalls to be worn at the sheds to minimize any contamination also all persons visiting from other area must ALWAYS have a disinfecting shoe bath to kill nay bacteria that affect the flocks wellbeing. Hands are washed before and after visiting or touching any livestock. We are currently running a Level 2 Agribusiness ITO Chicken handling course and three of our workers now hold he certificate. Any chickens found pecking others, sick, or injured, or just looking tired is placed in isolation until deemed fit to return to the flock. These chickens are still fed and handled in the same manner but a closer eye is kept on their condition. They soon make a full recovery under the flock mangers care. Back To Top
